The past week has been the most important week of Cal Poly’s history since it was turned on in 1969. It was the week we raised more than $10,000 in donations and pledges. Not only did we meet our goal, we crushed it.
And I couldn’t be more proud.
KCPR was and will always be a huge part of my life. I spent countless hours at the station during my college years spinning discs, producing newscasts, and forming friendships that continue today. It shaped me as a person and influenced me creatively in more ways than I can count.
I had the pleasure to write a column for The Mustang News last winter that spoke to the importance of college radio. It is a still a medium that provides an outlet for new bands and artists as well as a lab for future journalists hoping to break into talk radio, sports broadcasting or radio news.
